Visita de Estudo à Estónia

Biodiversidade e alterações climáticas:uma visão da Estónia. É este o tema que leva um grupo de jornalista a esta republica do Báltico entre os dias 20 e 22 de Maio, de 2015, a convite da Associação Estoniana de Jornalistas de Ciência.

“With half of its land covered with forests, and a sea territory dotted with more than 1,500 islands, Estonia can boast of a strikingly abundant biodiversity”, pode ler-se no comunicado enviado para a ARCA.

“On the three days of the trip, you will be meeting a number of outstanding Estonian ecologists and other environmental scientists, as well as experience Estonian nature first-hand on a visit to the wooded meadow of Laelatu, one of the most species-rich places in Europe.
Programme itinerary at a glance:
· Tuesday, 19 May: Arrival in Tallinn; Welcome Dinner
· Wednesday, 20 May: Tallinn University; Tallinn University of Technology (presentations on
the TUT’s research vessel Salme, cruising the Tallinn Bay)
· Thursday, 21 May: visits to the Laelatu wooded meadow and the Tartu Observatory
· Friday, 22 May: University of Tartu; Estonian University of Life Sciences; return to Tallinn
· Saturday, 23 May: Departure (or start of the weekend in Estonia on your own!)

Practical information

Accommodation for four nights (May 19–23), meals, and transportation during the trip will be covered by us, the organisers. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from Tallinn, including airport transfer. However, in case your association or media organisation is not able to pay for your travel, you are eligible to ask EUSJA to cover 50% of the cost of your plane tickets. Applications will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, depending on the availability of funds.
If you like, you can stay over for the weekend after the study trip, or even longer. A great idea would be to take a trip to an Estonian island, or even to spend a day or two in Tallinn, world famous for its red-roofed medieval Old Town. We can help you book your hotel, etc.

Termina a 24 de Outbro o prazo para responder ao anuncio de trabalho da EUSJA.

The European Union of Science Journalists Associations (EUSJA) needs an experienced administrator for management of EU projects and administrative work for the organization.

Workplace will be at the EuroScience office in Strasbourg.

EUSJA was founded in 1971 in Belgium by seven national associations of science journalists, EUSJA now represents more than 2000 science journalists around Europe. Following the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989 there was an upsurge of interest from Eastern European countries that now play an active role in EUSJA’s activities.

The main goals of EUSJA are truly barrier-breaking by aiming to improve communication between the international scientific community and society and to promote contacts between journalists in the field of scientific and technical communication.

•proven track record and experience on managing administration and handling accounts of EU-
projects, FP7 a big plus

•understanding science communication in general and science journalism specifically
•networking abilities with good writing skills for correspondence
•able to do independent work
•languages: English as working language, good French and other languages as plus

•Master´s or BA is an advantage

•salary level, depending of qualifications around 4250 € incl. social benefits according to French law
•permanent contract after 6 month probation period
•possibility to be flexible and a part time job, too

Visita de Estudo a Barcelona

Para os interessados em genoma existem ainda vagas para visitar o CRG em Barcelona.

Bolsa Knight


Jornalistas que cubram ciência, tecnologia,  ambiente ou medicina podem-se inscrever para uma bolsa de nove meses.

A Bolsa Knight em jornalismo científico cobre um ano lectivo de estudo personalizado, cursos e palestras nas universidades MIT e Harvard para jornalistas internacionais e americanos.

Os bolseiros recebem US$65.000, mais taxa de matrícula. Outros benefícios incluem seguro de saúde, bolsas de viagem de pesquisa, bolsas de conferências e acesso aos recursos da MIT e Harvard.

Os candidatos devem dominar a língua inglesa e ter pelo menos três anos de experiência como repórteres, escritores, editores, produtores, ilustradores ou fotojornalistas em jornais, revistas, rádio, televisão ou Internet.

Visita de Estudo à Suiça

gotthard_base_tunnel A visita de estudo para jornalistas de ciência e centralizada pela EUSJA compreende a entrada naquele que vai ser o mairo túnel ferroviário do mundo.

The trip will be in mid March of 2014.

You will find in the attachment the programme, descriprion and application form. Swiss association will host 35 EUSJA journalists. As usual to our trips, the participants have to take care for their travelling and the organizers will cover the hotel, meal and transporation during the trip.

Please inform the members of your associations and send their applications. The deadline for the applications is January 31.
